Di had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theoillamp.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/lend-swap-share.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-1578\" title=\"lend swap share\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.theoillamp.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/lend-swap-share-300x225.jpeg\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.theoillamp.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/lend-swap-share-300x225.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.theoillamp.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/lend-swap-share-1024x768.jpeg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>worked out how it would work and to you do need some ground rules.\u00a0 This is how it worked for us (very successfully).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>No one was forced to bring anything but were encouraged to bring two things.<\/li>\n<li>If you didn&#8217;t bring anything you could still take stuff away.<\/li>\n<li>All the things people brought were placed on a red blanket so that no one walked off with the telly etc.!<\/li>\n<li>We had a meal which we normally do on this Thursday in the month.\u00a0 During this people were encouraged to have a look and write down two things they wanted.<\/li>\n<li>After the meal we met together took our two things and then you could take anything you wanted.\u00a0 We read a passage of scripture prayed and thought about what we would do for lent.\u00a0\u00a0 The remainder of our stuff that wasn&#8217;t taken we will give to a charity shop<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Intentional living is something the group has started to think about in the last few weeks.\u00a0 What does it mean to live Christian fellowship in the 21st century in a potential age of scarcity?\u00a0 This is a small but meaningful way of being less materialistic and fits in well with lent.<\/p>\n<p>Neil<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last night our Connect group (home-group) held its swap and share evening.
